Enjoyed my first facial with Alison. Its been years since i had an official skincare regimen and it was refreshing to not be pressured to do a 10 step ritual and buy a whole mortgage payment of products. She assessed my skin and maintenance levels, suggested tweaks and changes to the service I had booked to increase benefits and keep me from peeling or feeling raw during pride weekend outdoors( the service adjustment DID NOT increase price point!) The products smelled wonderful and felt luxurious. The service was relaxing, laid back yet informative without overwhelming. Alison's personality was fun, a bit quirky and non judgmental with a strong ally vibe. The room is dark with a northern lights effect perfectly soundproofed to keep salon chatter at bay. The Foremost Building is always a gem to visit and explore and being off south street midday made me nostalgic for my decade of South Street retail joy. I will be back because the experience was great and I suggest you get a facial here too because Alison deserves a career of abundance.

I had a great experience getting a color correction here. At another salon, my hair was dyed way too dark with a toner, and a friend of mine recommended to get it fixed at Subculture. The staff was great with me on the phone about making an appointment, requesting photos of what my hair looked like, and doing a consultation to make sure we they knew what I needed for the appointment. My stylist Mark was very clear about what to expect, and explained the process well. He also got me a cup of coffee while I waited under the dryer, which was very kind. Most importantly, he got all of the dark brown out of my hair and restored me back to a blonde! I was really surprised at how successful he was, I thought that the brunette gloss would be much harder to get out. Overall a 10/10! And very reasonably priced too. I decided to get a hair cut here after a recommendation by a coworker, and I’m so glad I did!! The stylist who cut my hair, Haley, did an amazing job. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and she was able to replicate exactly what I asked for on my hair texture. She was very kind and talkative, and checked in with me every step of the way. She was able to finish my cut very quickly, and was very knowledgeable. This is the best my hair has looked directly after a hair cut, and I will definitely be returning for a cut from her again. I highly recommend this salon!

I had an appointment booked with Andrew for a massage based on a recommendation. Between how tense I have been lately and my bad back, I needed a good massage. Andrew was amazing. There’s nothing better than kind words and a smile to help relax someone, and the balance of strength and gentleness was perfect. I felt like a new person the next couple of days. Book with Andrew. A sweetheart with a magic touch!

I've been seeing Allison since 2018, and at this point I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. She started out as my esthetician and somehow became my skincare fairy godmother, therapist (unofficially 😂), hype woman, and friend all wrapped into one amazing human. I've had just about everything done over the years: monthly facials (my favorite day of the month), laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, and probably anything else she's told me would make my skin happy. Every single treatment has been incredible, and I trust her completely. She's so knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what she does, and it shows in every appointment. My skin has never looked or felt better, and I owe so much of that to her. But what makes Allison truly special has nothing to do with machines or products. She has this incredible way of making you feel completely comfortable no matter what you're there for. Whether you're walking in makeup-free, looking like you've been through it that week, or having a treatment that could feel a little awkward, she somehow makes it all feel so normal and easy. Her treatment room has become one of my favorite places. Yes, I leave with glowing skin every single time, but I also leave feeling lighter, happier, and somehow more put together than when I walked in. The conversations, the laughs, the life updates, the pep talks... it's honestly therapeutic. I always joke that I come for the facial but stay for the free therapy. Over the years we've become so close, and I'm incredibly grateful for our friendship. It's rare to meet someone who is not only unbelievably talented at what they do but also has such a genuinely beautiful heart. Allison celebrates your wins, listens when life gets hard, and somehow always knows exactly what you need whether it's a skincare treatment or just someone to remind you that you're doing okay. If you're lucky enough to become one of Allison's clients, prepare to never leave. She sets the bar impossibly high, and there's simply no one else I'd trust with my face. Eight years later, I'm still counting down the days until my next appointment, and I know I always will be.
