Make the consultation specific to the service
Confirm the requested result, existing product, nail condition, relevant sensitivities, previous reactions, lifestyle constraints, and realistic maintenance plan. Do not diagnose medical conditions; pause and refer the client appropriately when the service is unsafe.
Record what you need for continuity
Useful records can include the date, service, product system, shade, mix or tip size, notable adaptations, aftercare given, and the client's agreed photo preference. Keep notes factual and avoid speculative medical language.
Collect less and protect it better
Only collect information needed to provide the service or meet a genuine legal and accounting requirement. Explain why it is needed, restrict access, set a retention period, and provide a way to correct or delete information where applicable.
Separate service consent from marketing consent
Permission to perform a service is not automatically permission to publish close-up photos, names, or location details. Ask separately, make refusal easy, and record the chosen use accurately.
